Our opinion on the United States and their NATO allies pulling out of Afghanistan To understand whether the US pulling out of Afghanistan is justified or not, we must understand the reason why US went to Afghanistan in the first place. The US went to Afghanistan, in a partnership with the Afghan government to finish off Bin Laden and to eliminate all kinds of threats posed by the terrorist groups in that region to the United States, and to make sure that something like the 9/11 attacks doesn't happen again. They did not go to Afghanistan to rebuild the nation or to help the government forever in protecting their people, the US stayed back in Afghanistan much longer than they initially decided. What we believe in-turn happened is, this made the Afghan government and the people of Afghanistan dependent on the US for protection.
